Rewriting History

A recent educational program on "PA TV" has two senior Palestinian Authority [PA] historians going to great lengths to deny ancient Jewish history and erase the Jewish connection to the Land of Israel. At the same time they describe a fictitious ancient Palestinian-Arab history, creating a historical connection to the land that never existed.

This creative historical revisionism takes authentic Jewish history, documented by thousands of years of continuous literature, and replaces the word "Jewish" with the word "Arab".

But that's hardly new for the PA.

Their incessant denial of Israel's history and right to exist, and the invention of a fake Palestinian history have been backbones of the PA's indoctrination and education for years. (And our anti-Semitic, mainstream press has historically added fuel to the fire by twisting the truth.)

Check out the following main points of the "history" from their broadcast last week:
  • The Hebrews of the Bible have no connection to the Jews today.
  • The Hebrews of the Bible were Arabs.
  • The Prophets of the Bible were Muslims.
  • Biblical King Solomon was a Muslim Prophet.
  • Solomon's Temple was not built by Israelites but by Arab Canaanites. (This hogwash has to be seen to believe!)
  • The Canaanites are the forefathers of the Palestinians.
  • The Bible is legends based on what Jews imagined and not on history.
  • The Jews today are descendents of a 13th Century Khazar tribe with no history in the Land of Israel.
  • The location of the Temple Mount in Jerusalem is a Zionist invention.
  • Zionism is Racism.
  • Update: On Tuesday, it appears that Israel's own attorney general wants the country to consider applying to Palestinians the Fourth Geneva Convention safeguarding the treatment of occupied people.

While reasonable at first glance, this kowtowing to the World Court, would be tantamount to admitting its "Jewish settlement enterprise" (don't you just love Reuters) is illegal.

Update II: Michael Rosen over at Tech Central Station, argues that the International Court of Justice's contemptible condemnation of Israel's security fence may actually prove beneficial to Israel.
